We appreciate this is the boring part, but we’re obliged to make a few things clear so that no one falls out. We don’t like falling out with people, you see.
Terms & Conditions
The price of the accommodation includes the following: linen, hot water, central heating. Electricity is charged by meter reading at the end of your stay. Credit Card and non-UK Debit Card payments are subject to a 2% surcharge. UK debit card payments do not incur any surcharge. VAT is included in the rental fee. If VAT rates change, Mackay’s reserves the right to amend prices accordingly.
Towels and Linen:
All bed linen, towels and kitchen towels are supplied, with the exception of spa/beach towels and cot bedding.
We welcome children of all ages.
All facilities are strictly reserved for the use of our guests. Guests’ visitors may use the facilities only with the specific approval of Mackay’s. Any of the on site facilities may be withdrawn from use in the event of any circumstances which deem the facilities unsafe or present any risk to health and safety. The facilities will be withdrawn in the event of any misuse or failure to comply with rules and procedures.
At Mackay’s we welcome dogs – there is a £15 charge per dog, and dogs are not allowed on beds or furniture. Any damage will be paid for in full.
Mackay’s Rooms is strictly non-smoking in accordance with Scottish Law. If this is ignored a mandatory £100.00 cleaning charge will be implemented.
A deposit is payable on booking (to confirm the reservation) which is returnable if the booking is unable to be accepted. The balance of the holiday cost is payable 42 days prior to the holiday commencement date. If the reservation is made less than 42 days in advance of the holiday commencement date, the full holiday cost is payable on booking. Please note that bookings from persons under 18 years of age cannot be accepted.
Cancellation and Insurance:
We have a 7-day cancellation policy, as detailed in our booking confirmation. In the event of a guest having to cancel within the 7-day period, we will charge for the accommodation in full, unless we are able to re-let the room(s). If we are successful in re-letting rooms we no charge will be applicable.
We do not offer online booking as we prefer to deal with your enquiries directly to help you plan your stay here with us on a more personal level. Reservations taken every day from 9.30am to 8.30pm – if you wish to make a reservation telephone (01971) 511202 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you wish to make an initial enquiry, or would like us to send a brochure and tariff or further information of any kind, please go to the Availability page and send an Enquiry via our form. We check our email daily and will respond to your enquiry as quickly as we can.
All reservations will be confirmed by email, and/or posted in writing to your preferred postal address. We take credit/debit card details to secure your accommodation reservation, no money is deducted at this time.
Non-availability of Accommodation:
We would only cancel your holiday if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would however attempt to offer you alternative accommodation. If this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund all monies paid by you for the holiday. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund. The Owner cannot accept responsibility for any material loss, damage, additional expense or inconvenience directly or indirectly caused by or arising out of the property, its plumbing, heating, electrical services or exceptional weather.
Check-in is from 4pm onwards, if arrival is later than 8pm please let us know.
Check-out is 10.30am after breakfast. Late check-out can be arranged
Damages and Breakages:
Please take care when staying in our property. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages, which you cause, to the accommodation or its contents. All we ask is that you report any incidents as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may charge your Debit/Credit card or send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant. You are expected to leave the accommodation and its contents in the same state of repair and condition and in the same clean and tidy condition at the end of the rental period as at the beginning. You are legally bound to reimburse Mackay’s for replacement, repair or extra cleaning costs on demand.
Mackay’s Duty of Care:
In the rare event of a breakdown in a particular service or item a repair/replacement shall be found/fitted within 72 hours where possible. Mackay’s cannot be held liable for any loss arising from loss of use of the service/item within the specified time limit.
The client or member of his/her party cannot hold Mackay’s responsible for injury sustained or the loss or damage to any belongings during their stay at Mackay’s. The proprietors accept no liability for accident, injury, loss or damage sustained by any residents, their family, visitors, animals, vehicles or personal effects however caused, unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment. You must take all necessary steps to protect and safeguard your personal property. Lost Property: There is a minimum of £5 + postage charge to post any items that you have left behind. Please ensure everything is taken home with you.
Any data collected during the course of this booking will be stored on our computer(s). With your permission we may from time to time contact you about promotions and offers. We will not share your details with any third party.
